Necropolis
SynopsisJuly 4th 1942: The last thing LAPD Detective James Morgan can recall is putting his key in the ignition and a brilliant flash of light... Out of a fog, Detective Morgan emerges in the twilight aboard a massive ocean liner just beyond Los Angeles Harbor. On the rows of docks, recently deceased souls flood out in mazes, pushing toward an enormous glass canopied train station, where they are sorted and delivered to the Chamber of Anubis, the Jackal-headed director of the Necropolis' Union Station. Detective Morgan is mistakenly decreed a suicide and is exiled to the cold, austere outskirts of Necropolis, the dead version of Los Angeles. The Detective's spirit wanders this dark, hopeless, bleak city where Gods, from all walks of life, lord over the tormented souls who reside within. Odin, Warden of Necropolis, polices the eternal mass of tormented souls fated to conquer creation for either the armies safeguarding humanity or the mass of the Dark Lord. In the time of ice and giants the Gods agreed that humanity was destined to die however, a small band of deities secretly work to ensure that humans continue to progress and evolve. They believe humanity would achieve such great heights that the God's themselves will be in awe. Championing the extermination of humanity, the Dark Lord has been leading humanity to its own demise with incursions into the real world to bring about the Age of Chaos. The Dark Lord commands a talented army of demons who carry out his twisted missions. The Dark Lord struggles against his own insanity to achieve his masterpiece and is aided by his son, Prince Leviathan. Because of his madness the Dark Lord's Lieutenants scheme to overthrow him and claim Hell as their own but Leviathan is more resourceful than anyone expects. It will be up to Leviathan to maintain control before the chaos boils over into the other realms, threatening all existence. Morgan uses his detective skills to solve his own murder and among a sea of medicine healers, monks, spirits, priests, assassins and gods begins a journey he cannot resist. Along the way Morgan uncovers a conspiracy to eradicate Necropolis and all of humanity, but can he, one lost soul, avert disaster before it's too late?
